Here Comes The Summer

The spring (Irish summer) has finally arrived here! For the first time since maybe October, the Dalian temperatures have overtaken those in Ireland! After a few weeks of rainy days and temperatures hovering around the ten degree mark, it’s finally heating up!! Today it was something like 20 degrees! Time to get out the sun cream and head to the beach! It will be great if it’s like this for the May holiday next week!

Had an exercise-packed weekend. Dalian is really good in that you don’t have to go far to find the sea or to climb a hill. Headed cycling on Binhai Road (plenty of hills) and then hit up Tai Shan (台山) for great views of the Xinghai Square, the sea and the city.


Hopefully during the holiday I can do more of the same and also head to Lushun, to the south of Dalian. Gotta be careful down there as some of the areas are military zones which are out of bounds to foreigners!!
